Environmental Outreach in China

Established: 2006

EEMP works to establish links with schools, libraries, offices and universities throughout China in order to share the EEMP film library with everyone interested in learning about environment, sustainable development and public health.

Corentin, EEMP's very own mobile cinema with laptop, projector and films, is ready to visit any school, office, library or village where there are people willing to watch films and learn about these important issues. If you would like Corentin to visit you please contact us.

As well as the 33 films from the Life series in Chinese, EEMP has a collection of Earth Report and EEMP films (English/Chinese). These films are excellent for classroom use with individual programs focusing on a range of topics, including pollution, economics, women's rights, poverty, public health and development.

In order to better understand the role media can play in development and, in particular, to assess the success of documentary films in communicating information and raising awareness on environment, sustainable development and public health, EEMP regularly undertakes surveys of film audiences.

Thank you to all of you who have come to watch films at the CESDRRC and have taken part in EEMP's survey of the effectiveness of film in communicating information and raising awareness on environment, sustainable development and public health. The data collected in the last two evaluation reports is available for download (see BBC Life Series Evaluation Report 1 and BBC Life Series Evaluation Report 2).
