March 2007: First performance of A Green Call a multimedia concerto: Themes from the Yellow River and Emerson Piano Concertos synchronized with a film by EEMPC on the pollution and devastation of the Yellow River, and its gradual restoration. Concertos performed by the China National Symphony Orchestra, with pianists Chen Sa and Timothy Smith. Conductor: Terje Mikkelsen. There will be a second performance on March 27th to mark visit of Prime Minister of Norway.

 
December 2006: EEMPC's Director John D. Liu presents the Earth's Hope Loess Plateau Project film at International Workshop on the Economic & Social Costs of Desertification at FAO HQs, Rome, Italy, and also, at the Horn of Africa - Regional Environmental Meeting at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.

 
July 7th-9th 2006: EEMPC's Director John D. Liu in the UK presenting China's Sorrow - Earth's Hope at Wilton Park Conference Sustainable Development: Managing the Transition Experience of Emerging Markets and the UK.

 
June 2006: Work begins on the cave in Houjiagou, Shaanxi to create the first library space for the Participatory Village Library Project.

 
June 22nd 2006: EEMPC's Director John D. Liu presents China's Sorrow - Earth's Hope to The World Bank, Washington DC.

 
June 2006: EEMPC Outreach visits elementary and middle schools in Jixian and Dengfeng,Henan Province running film screenings as part of an 8-day environment education tour organized by Friends of Nature.

 
May 2006: EEMPC's Director John D. Liu is awarded the first Rothamsted International Fellowship for Communication of Science at Rothamsted Research. Rothamsted is the largest agricultural research centre in the UK and has over 160 years of history.

 
Beijing Outreach: Daily film screenings in schools and libraries across the city. Venues this month include: Beijing Middle Schools No. 8 and No.35, International School Beijing, Western Academy of Beijing and the CESDRCC.

April 2006: ICE A-V announce the release of LIFE in Chinese. Films in the LIFE series focus on the Millennium Development Goals, are available to buy and are a valuable resource for schools, universities, libraries and individuals across China.

 
February 2006: John D. Liu attends Steering Committee meeting of the Global Forum on Media Development in Paris, France.

 
February 2005: John D. Liu in Africa documenting Uganda\'s response to HIV/AIDS to help others address the pandemic. The purpose is to create high quality Audio-Visual Materials that can be used in various ways including broadcast, educational use, promotion and presentation; to provide comprehensive information rather than slogans.

 
Roy Sagnik visits Jinan and Zibo on 15th & 16th November, 2004 along with Mr. Ernest Lowe, Eco-Industrial Development Director of the International Center for Sustainable Development. They met local leaders and discussed the feasibility of setting up an Agro Eco-Industrial Park to promote sustainable farming and food production in Shandong Province, China.

EEMP Associate Director Kosima Weber Liu to attend the International Workshop and Round Table on "Security Issues and Economic Co-operative Dimension in North-East Asia: Towards a Regional Stability. A Comprehensive Dialogue between the EU and the DPRK" to be held at the Council Room, Municipality of Como, Italy, on September 24, 2004.

She will be lecturing on "Security through Ecological Security - Immediate and Long-Term Sustainable Development Strategies for the Korean Peninsula Integrating the EU Experience".
